Im married to my fantastic wife (Lisa) for almost 2 years now, and I let three dogs and a parrot (who drives me nuts sometimes) run our household. My wife and I recently moved to Mt Pleasant where I'm currently working on a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at CMU. Looking forward to what the next 10 years will bring! ;-) What did you do for the 10 years after OHS?: The school rundown: I did my undergraduate studies at Michigan State University and earned a B.S. in Psychology. After that we went back to Texas, and are now back in Ohio. Somewhere in all that craziness I had three boys and started an online company. From Elisa: Wow, what a cool trip down memory lane. A big thanks to Erika (Lyne) Hollier for tacking me down and hooking me up with this cool site where I can check out what everyone has been up to. Now maybe I can get off the "missing" page! |

State/Prov.: Illinois Occupation: Homemaker / Activist / Entrepreneur Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 1 If married - how long?: 3 years What are the ages of your children?: 2 What have you been doing for the last 10 years?: I moved to Chicago, divorced my first husband, worked, worked and worked. Finally got my head together, learned to scuba dive, dabbled at second city improv, took up running and traveled here and there. Met my husband in 2003, remarried in 2004, surprised to find out we were expecting so quickly, welcomed our little “buddy” in 2005. I left my 10-year career in Information Technology Outsourcing in 2006 to be a full time homemaker in order to manage my son’s severe food allergies. In the last year, I’ve kept busy chasing my toddler around, learning how to cook tasty meals without milk, eggs, gelatin, beef, oat and gluten, writing our son’s story, his illnesses and close calls before finally being diagnosed and sharing it with lawmakers, the food allergy project, our community and every other avenue available to increase awareness and funding for continued research. I’m also working to start our county’s support group for parents of food allergic children, and starting an allergen free food business with a good friend of mine who also has a child with a severe food allergy. Lastly, my husband and I are preparing for our second child’s arrival this year. |

m City: Charlotte State/Prov.: Michigan Country: USA Occupation: High School Hist. Teacher Website: www.msu.edu/~konietz1/ Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 2 If married - how long?: 10 years What have you been doing for the last 10 years?: Since our ten year reunion I have been happily married for ten years (but have been with Kelly for a total of 20 years). Kelly and I have two daughters, Olivia who is 2 ½ and Alexis who is 6 months and are keeping us busy. After graduating from MSU, I managed to spend a week out in Seattle with a close friend and got to go white water rafting for the first time (class 4 rapids), mountain biked Mt. St. Helens, watched the sun set on the Pacific Ocean. I have hiked Isle Royale again, this time with my wife as it was our honeymoon spot and I am yearning to get back there. I bought a house in Charlotte, Michigan and have called it home for 6 almost six years now. I am currently the chairman of the Charlotte Zoning Board of Appeals (unpaid) and tend a 40 ft x 40 ft garden in my backyard for something to do in the summer. When I have time I like to spend it at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in the Glen Arbor area and have some wonderful spots to watch the sunset and enjoy life. I am teaching U.S. History and Advanced Placement U.S. History at Lansing Everett High School and have been doing so for seven years now. I love teaching and see it as a positive occupation that has the power to change lives and make a difference. What did you do for the 10 years after OHS?: The ten years after high school were filled with going to college, earning a degree in photography, trying to pick myself up after Bill Ashley died and dating my future wife, Kelly. I did some traveling in the U.P. and Isle Royale National Park and in Europe. As part of my trip to Europe, in Sept of 1990 I saw major poverty after a trip into the villages of the former Czechoslovakia, which was pretty life changing. I came back from Europe, got a job as a first assistant and studio manager in a major photo studio in Troy and quit after 6 months of no life and not finding the job rewarding personally, although the money was great. I went back to school to become a teacher, kept dating Kelly, whom I’d met in photo school in 1987. I worked as a photographer for the Michigan House of Representatives until 1994, was laid off and started MSU on unemployment. I found a job at Practical Political Consulting in East Lansing, where I worked from 1995 to 2001 while I attended MSU and enjoyed it very much. I got married to Kelly in 1997 the week after our ten year reunion and became a teacher at Lansing Everett High School in 2001. That’s my ten years after high school nutshell. From Lothar: Wow, twenty years sure has gone by fast. Looking forward to catching up with people. I enjoyed our ten year so I believe I will enjoy the 20! Thanks for the hard work you've done to pull this off and sorry I couldn't be of more help. -Lothar |

t City: Aurora State/Prov.: IL Country: United States Occupation: Sr. Client Service Manager Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 3 If married - how long?: 12 years What are the ages of your children?: 7 , 5 and 3 What have you been doing for the last 10 years?: In 1997 I was looking at two job offers. One in Downtown Detroit and one in Chicago. Duh - I have been in Chicago for 10 years and we now have three girls. (I'm going to have to work with Joe Victory to annalize my water - I think that is the only way to explaine all the kids.) It's been a crazy 10 years lots of work and travel, I've been all over the country and to London visiting clients. Not all travel is great. I was in New York on 9/11/01 (I see Kristin Lindell was also in NY at that time) I saw things that day that I hope I don't forget, and it makes me want to get home to see my family when ever I'm on the road. I'm still swimming to try to stay in shape (round is a shape, right?). Work and family take most of my time - but we do get back to Michigan to see family and spend time at Higgins Lake in the summer. What did you do for the 10 years after OHS?: I attended MSU, which was at that point was the best 5 years of my life. I may have even learned somthing. I started working in Radio shortly after starting at MSU, first at what was WILS A/F, (on air name Karl Stacks - thanks to Tom Hopper for that one) then WLNS TV and was Program Director for WDBM (MSU's student station) After graduating in 1991 with a BA in Telecommunications I worked at WJIM untill I discovered it sucked. I spend the next summer selling hot tubs and pool supplys. I thought I should go back to school, and started on a second degree in Marketing when I was offered a job in New York. Soon I was transfered to Boston (because the boss was sleeping with the girl they hired for the Boston job, and he wanted to keep her in NY) At about that time I was introduced to my future wife and we started a long distance relationship (she was in Lansing and I was in NY) (Cate is a 1987 grad of Grand Ledge) Soon it was 1995 and we were married and living in Boston. Then with a desire to be closer to family, I took a job in Milwaukee. |

I am employed by a fantastic company-- Beacon Specialized Living Services in mental health and behavioral services with the title of Regional Director of Operations. I love the beaches and water where I spend much of my time. I had been in NYC ( and loving it )for 8 years prior to this move. I was in NYC at the time of 911. No tragedies in my close personal life but rather a brilliant cool "wake up call." I went to S. Africa shortly after with intent to use my monkey hands to help build/plant a church in Port Elizabeth S.A. along with tending to AIDS babies. Wailed every day at the poverty. Came back to NYC and started preparing to move to Port Elizabeth. Instead ( long story ) ended up back in Michigan face:face with a lot of the stuff I'd tried to leave behind many years ago. It was a good choice...super fly fulfilling. What did you do for the 10 years after OHS?: Tried to figure out life and myself! After graduating from OHS I spent chunk time out west. I graduated from the University of Colorado in 1991 with a degree in Sociology--Peace and Conflict Studies.
